With its history, architecture and festivals, Edinburgh has long been popular with tourists but the Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) was planned and built to attract more business visitors to the city.

When the EICC Ltd was formed in the early nineties, as a joint venture between Edinburgh District Council and Lothian & Edinburgh Enterprise, it was to be part of the Edinburgh Exchange Masterplan – the biggest urban regeneration scheme outside London at the time.

Since opening in 1995 the EICC has welcomed over one million delegates from more than 120 countries generating £500m of economic impact for the city region.
